What does it take to roll with the world’s most dapper men, who descended upon Milan Fashion Week for the Fall 2016 show? As the fashion week wraps up yesterday, we take a look back at the street fashion highlights from the event. Sure, men’s Fashion Week may technically be all about the boys, but it was the women who dressed to kill with a dash of menswear-inspired flair. The street of Italy’s fashion capital were full of inspirations, and below is our picks of women’s best street style from The Fall 2016 menswear at Milan Fashion Week.
Strong 70’s inspired trend dominated this season’s Milan Fashion Week, with reinterpreted checks and houndstooth overcoats, along with an overabundance of fur, leather jackets, turtlenecks, lots of denim, and generally increasingly boxy silhouettes. Another style stolen from the boys were a string of impeccably tailored pieces with relaxed silhouettes. Army-inspired bomber jackets were worn heavily on the streets, and it seems like we are going to see a lot more of it this year. Fresh, dewy skin and a pinch of cheek color, courtesy of the brisk winter winds of the city were all that is needed, complemented by a less-is-more approach and a clean center part on the hair. The classic ’90s look appeared massively as the week’s street style stars chose to have sleek blowouts for loose, air-dried lengths that fell evenly on either side — giving one score for the tomboys.
