The Grand 'Palazzo Versace' Opens in Dubai

With echoes of luxury to its name, Dubai is the home of opulence. Such aesthetic definitely reflects Versace’s maximalist spirit, and as the brand’s artistic director Donatella Versace might agree, it is the perfect nest for Palazzo Versace in the Emirates – a hotel dubbed ‘the most luxurious the Middle East has ever seen’.

Opening its door since November 10, 2015, the Palazzo Versace Dubai is the second in the franchise following the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast in Australia. “Versace is a renowned fashion, luxury and lifestyle company. Since the very beginning we’ve encompassed many product categories – from clothing to accessories, from luxury goods to the home collection – to convey the uniqueness and iconic style of the brand,” said Versace CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris in a statement. “In 2000, we have pioneered the luxury fashion-branded hotels opening the first Palazzo Versace Gold Coast, Australia and today we are proud to bring the ultimate Versace lifestyle in Dubai with the new hotel. The fine and luxurious designs by Versace will be present in every detail of the living environment, and luxury will become a lifestyle.”

This symbol of Versace lifestyle is set in the heart of the Culture Village, conveniently located along the shores of the historic Dubai Creek, bringing us back to the 16th century Italian Palace for it is a neoclassical masterpiece with subtle traces of Arabian architecture. The ceilings have been hand-detailed in gold, as it features exclusive designs from the House of Versace combined with the finest mosaics and tiles – the lobby has a 1000m2 marble mosaic floor. There is also the signature Greek décor as well as the striking ‘Pietra di Fiume’ design of the iconic Medusa to greet you upon arrival. Yes, every single piece of furniture and fabric that adorns the hotel’s 215 rooms and suites as well as 169 residences were tailor made for Palazzo Versace Dubai.

For those who are planning to stay here during a visit to Dubai, there are two room categories: Deluxe and Premiere; and five suite categories: Executive, Grand Executive, Grand, Signature, and Imperial. The rate ranges from Dh 2,320 for Deluxe to Dh 6,800 for a creek-view Grand Suite. These room are also topped with the delightful eight restaurants: Giardino – an all-day dining restaurant, with wallpaper in the label’s Jungle print, seafood restaurant Vanitas, ‘avant-garde’ Enigma, lobby lounge Mosaico, Q’s bar by music producer Quincy Jones, La Vita bar, shisha lounge Gazebo, and pool bar Amalfi. The spa and three outdoor pools are also not to be forgotten as well as the essential gala ballroom and conference center.
