After a watch brand, a giant tech company, and many other parties joined “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” craze, now it’s fashion designers’ turn to follow in their footsteps. Big names such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Opening Ceremony, and Rag & Bone are joining their forces to reimagine star wars iconic costumes, and the results are incredibly stylish.
Standing under #Force4Fashion label, Billy Reid, Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Giles, Halston, Opening Ceremony, Ovadia & Sons, Parker, Rag & Bone, Timo Weiland, and Todd Snyder are launching a ready to wear line inspired by Star Wars characters. Each piece are custom-designed, showing how the designer would reinterpret the characters with their own artistics.
One interesting piece were created by Cynthia Rowley, who reconstructed the droid shape of BB-8 into wearable separates. Other designer like Todd Snyder, made a quite exceptional take on Chewbacca by creating a rather laid-back looking fur jacket. You can also check Opening Ceremony’s interpretation of Kylo Ren which could potentially be the next coolest villain look on the streets. In other hand, Diane Von Furstenberg dress inspired by Rey is just… downright beautiful.
Each of the pieces from this line are already displayed in Bloomingdale’s 57th Street windows and will be auctioned off on CharityBuzz.com to benefit the Child Mind Institute.
