The Black Moon Rolex Milgauss by Daniel Arsham for Bamford Watch Department

The Black Moon Rolex Milgauss by Daniel Arsham for Bamford Watch Department

Known for their custom Rolex watches, as well as their high-profile artist collaborations – including Wes Lang, Jose Parla, and Marc Quinn, the Bamford Watch Department has worked with Future Relic artist Daniel Arsham from New York to present ‘The Black Moon’ Rolex Milgauss.

Given the signature military-grade matte black titanium coating by Bamford, the watch has a painting made by Arsham – the landscape of the moon with a section purposely left missing – as its face, printed on a unique mother of pearl dial using a secret proprietary emulsion technique. Made of solid 904L stainless steel with an internal Faraday cage designed to withstand magnetic fields up to a strength of 1000 Gauss, this timepiece is produced in an edition of 13.

This piece is something that would definitely pair nicely with a dapper suit and some brogues, but with only 13 available, it would be better to get it soon before it’s all sold out. This would also make an incredible gift (read: a piece for self-spoiling). ‘The Black Moon’ is available from Fivestory New York, Colette Paris and Bamford Watch Department London.  See the video for a closer look.
