For the last few years, Airbnb has transformed from a mere accommodation listing into a party who grants all of your wildest dreams—accommodation wise, to be precise. Located in L’Aquarium de Paris, this latest Airbnb installment offers an experience of a sleepover in which you will be surrounded by the namely sea’s most majestic predators: Sharks.
The bedroom in which the sleepover is about to be hosted, is a 360-degree transparent wall, placed ten meters deep inside a shark tank. From there you would be able to observe 35 of the majestic sharks whilst relaxing and going about your days. It will surely be an experience that strangely juxtaposed serenity and thrills that can happen only once in a lifetime.
As if the experience isn’t interesting enough to justify all the money you’re willing to spend, the room is going to be opened for free from April 11-13. Those who are interested to spend a night should submit a 50-550 character entry online by 11:59 p.m. CET on April 3 telling Airbnb a little about themselves, where they’re from, and why they “belong with the sharks for a night.” The accommodation is even willing to fly you to Paris if you’re not from the city.
Three lucky winners and their guests will be welcomed by host, Fred Buyle, a world record-breaking freediver, underwater photographer, and shark enthusiast. He’ll dance alongside the sharks and once you’re settled, Fred and one of their marine biologists will guide you on a tour through the aquarium, and provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of sharks: how they live, why they’re so misunderstood, and their importance to the ocean’s ecosystem.
And so, why wait?
