The fashion scene is about to be captivated with another exciting collaboration. Nike, although it doesn’t stand as a fashion brand, they are still acknowledging the fashion side sport. These days the pace has become so fast, even with high fashion labels, and therefore fashion collaborations are some ways of expanding the company’s creative ecosystem as well as keeping consumers engaged and excited by the sport brand in a fast moving market. Therefore, we don’t have to choose between highly functional, technical product and fashionable product, while we can get it all.
In 2014 Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci teamed up with Nike for the first time, giving the iconic Nike Air Force 1 his very own twist in overall three releases. Following up to their hugely successful Air Force 1 release, now it looks like Ricardo Tisci and Nike are planning on releasing another new collaboration. The Riccardo Tisci-designed Nike Air Force 1 was arguably one of the most coveted sneaker releases of 2014. Being a winning partnership and the fact that Tisci is a lifetime fan of the Air Force 1 made it that much better. The upcoming collaboration should come as no surprise considering the success of their previous joint project.
Fortunately, it looks like we won’t have to wait too long. Last weekend Tisci gave a hint in his Instagram post — a photo of recent Golden Globe winner Sylvester Stallone in a blue Nike tank top — that a new collaboration is coming soon. While there isn’t any further information about whether the project will be sneakers or apparel or both, all we know is that it’s on the way. For right now, that’s more than enough. And we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
