Potato Head Opens in Hong Kong

Indonesian chain Potato Head has opened its first location in Hong Kong. The space was envisioned to be a multi-purpose area, with a retail space, a restaurant and a coffee shop. It was designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto who wanted to evoke a sense of residential belonging. Combining lightweight metallic fixtures with robust teak wood, from the outside we can see a pattern to the building’s façade, echoing the city’s traditional window frames. And here's what you'll experience in this 8,000-square-foot multi-purpose space.

Kaum, an Indonesian restaurant that celebrates the traditional cooking techniques of the country’s diverse ethnic tribes. The Music Room, an intimate music venue with a high-fidelity sound system that will house a library of vinyl records. The space will also be used to organise disco nights, album-listening parties, guest gigs from touring DJs and tie-ins with Potato Head Beach Club. All-day café and bar, a bar that specialises in flavours native to Bali, including a selection of arak, a popular Indonesian rice-based spirit. I Love You So Coffee, An immensely popular coffee spot from Tokyo. Retail, a two-sectioned retail space, with one area housing products from Canaan, a home and lifestyle boutique offering artisanal Indonesian items, and the other selling merchandise from the PTT Family, the hospitality group that run Potato Head.
