Just a few days ago, Gucci announced the opening of a permanent shop at Dover Street Market in New York City. This opening is part of an ongoing collaboration which debuted at Dover Street Market in Ginza, Tokyo and subsequently launched at Dover Street Market New York in September 2015.
Located on the 7th floor of Dover Street Market New York, the space will be the first specialty store in North America to showcase products for men and women from Alessandro Michele’s Gucci spring summer 2016 collections. Conceived exclusively for this location, Alessandro Michele has created a unique visual concept for the shop. The focal point of the display is a dramatic camel, navy and red chevron print. The print is featured in wallpaper and carpeting, as well as fabric covered screens. Vivid red panels and sophisticated velvet chairs work seamlessly with the overall look.
Pieces from the Gucci collection are displayed on free standing metal racks and busts upholstered in vibrant velvet. The shop definitely keeping in with the elegant and contemporary eclecticism that characterizes Gucci’s new collections, with a combination of traditional and modern, industrial and romantic.
