PUMA’s lifestyle division has lined up with Polish fashion brand UEG for Fall/Winter 2016. The result of the capsule collection, which consists of both footwear and apparel is rather bold. The two brands push the boundaries of performance and style, by reconstructing and deconstructing sneakers and apparel which incorporate space-inspired themes and technical materials.
Titled “Gravity Resistance.” Inspired by space, discovery and exploration, simple silhouettes are complemented with black and white graphics for a minimal, yet bold, approach. UEG, which stands for “Usa e Getta”, (meaning “use and throw away” in Italian) imbues a focus on overconsumption, often utilizing recycled materials in innovative ways to craft its goods.
The starting point of the collaboration is functional innovation. The color scheme is mostly kept in black and white, with hints of gray and olive on the apparel. This unisex collection also uses technical fabrics and waterproof zippers. The sneakers include both a low top in black and a high top in white, both featuring interesting graphic hits on the mid-sole, elastic straps across the upper and a mix of leather and mesh across the entire shoe.
Look out for the PUMA x UEG “Gravity Resistance” collection to release in the coming weeks from select retailers.
