Style is a global language now and fashion scenes are popping up all over the world, yet China’s love for style is one that is well documented. Accordingly, the vast nation is by far the world’s biggest consumer of luxury goods, and huge amount of Western labels revenues acts as a prove. What’s often overlooked, however, is the country’s domestic scene.
Hidden down a backstreet in Beijing, a chunky concrete frame surrounds the glass shopfront of this fashion-forward boutique in the Sanlitun district. Aptly named Anchoret, this boutique serves up a curated selection of designer goods from the likes of Vetements, Yohji Yamamoto, Yang Li, UNDERCOVER and Lemaire. Inside, the boutique is divided into four areas, each styled slightly different. The space include a light-filled reception space, a dressing room area, and a men’s and women’s collection spaces. Explore the goods in full over at the ANCHORET instagram– or pay them a visit if you’re in the area.
