When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Just as the fashion set shifts from city to city, the attendees move along with it. And obviously, their outfits represent the city they currently reside in. Take New York, for example – there the best dressed stuck with the tried-and-true monochromatic urban uniform. In Milan, however, people were sporting a different kind of look.
Here in Italy, flowers bloom in the form of prints and cutouts, embroidered and pinned. Mia Moretti and Eugenie Niarchos were spotted wearing floral at Roberto Cavalli; there was also Anna Dello Russo with her floral in the form of cutout dress at Dolce & Gabbana, as well as Alexa Chung and Salma Hayek at Gucci.
Color play was also an idea supported by many. Red seemed to be a favorite among the best looks from Gucci’s Spring 2016 front row as spotted on Karen Elson, Charlotte Casiraghi, and Dakota Johnson. Hamish Bowles was rocking purple at Dolce & Gabbana whilst Anna Wintour sat beside him looking stunning as always in her green dress. At Versace, Naomi Campbell looked amazing in an orange dress.
What about silhouettes? One was apparent; the hem goes beyond the knees. Overall, the look of Milan was more feminine and quirky in equal measure.
