High fashion’s level of extreme is taking a new height with the recent ACNE Studios Women’s Fall Collection campaign shot by Viviane Sassen. Casting the director Jonny Johansson’s 11-year-old son, the Swedish label put Frasse Johansson in pink coat and high-heeled boots.
The designer indeed has been playing with androgynous look since his SS16 Men’s Collection, and now he brings it to the next level. “The cut, the shape and the character of the garment is the crucial thing, rather than seeking approval from society or to follow set norms,” the older Johansson explained. The youth of today has a renewed view on style and as gender blurring in fashion is peaking the new generation of fashion community gained more freedom in terms of deciding what to put on their body. “I immediately pictured Frasse, since he embodies this new breed to me. I asked him and I’m happy that he wanted to be a part of the campaign,” he said.
The images debuts on the brand’s website on Thursday and are destined only for outdoor placements, starting with New York during its fashion week, to be followed by subsequent ones in London and Paris — and then in Hong Kong ahead of Golden Week.
