Celebrating its expansion to North America, COS teamed up with Lernet & Sander to create a special fashion film featuring the Fall 2015 men’s and women’s collections through the art of hula hooping.
Entitled ‘Around COS’, Lernet & Sander created a 360º look around the collection by using hula hoops and a grey 360º space. With tonal silhouettes making up most of the Fall 2015 drop – focusing on black, white, grey, navy, and tan hues, a closer glimpse towards the collection was provided by attaching Go-Pro cameras to the inner part of the hoops. The effect resulted from the technique also quite mesmerizing, although slightly dizzying. It is beautiful how the clutch is captured in this film.
To perfect the art of the sport in this film, the creative duo consulted with a world hula hoop champion. “We had a great hula-hooping professional on the shoot, the amazing Marawa. 73 models turned up to show off their beauty and hula-hooping skills and Marawa was able to instantly pick out those with a raw talent for the art and went on to transform them into pros.”
In regards with this second collaboration between COS and the filmmakers, COS head of womenswear design, Karin Gustafsson, said, “Lernert & Sander never fail to bring warmth and a playful component to their work, and with ‘Around COS’ they have enabled us to present the COS world through these elements once again.”
COS opened its first Canadian store in Toronto on September 18, and launched in Montreal October 9.
